Job Title:  Cumberland River RHOAR Administrative Assistant

Qualifications Include:  High School Diploma or GED with experience or Bachelor’s Degree; Computer and typing skills;  Organization skills; Submitting to and passing successfully a criminal records check and a drug screening test.

Hours:  Monday through Friday, 8:00 am until 4:00 pm.  Different hours may be required with the job or may be adjusted by Supervisor.

This position reports to Cumberland River RHOAR Program Director.

Summary of Job Duties:  The Administrative Assistant will assist their supervisor and others in assuring that the Recovery Program is operating effectively and efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Prepares and submits assigned reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Files necessary documents and is able to retrieve those documents when required.
  • Makes phone calls and submits faxes as requested by supervisors.
  • Answers phone calls in a polite and helpful manner, and takes messages as necessary.
  • Attends meetings and takes notes as required.
  • Types and copies as necessary.
  • Coordinates meeting rooms and van schedules.
  • Coordinates maintenance/contractor efforts.
  • May be required to perform drug screenings on clients as needed.
  • Serves as a representative of his/her supervisor when in contact with other employees, officials, or the general public.
  • Makes administrative decisions regarding procedures or policies within prescribed limitations when necessary.
  • Requisitions supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Supervises volunteers and assistant staff as needed.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with other team members.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: 

  • The physical demands required to successfully perform this job include being able to push, pull, stoop, bend, stand, walk and lift up to 20 pounds.  Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable the individual with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
  • Possess a valid Kentucky Driver’s License and maintain a safe driving record if required for job performance.

 

Work Environment:

  • The employee will normally work indoors at their assigned office but may on occasion be required to work outside or at another location if necessary.  The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
  • The position may require duties to include routine or reasonably anticipated tasks or procedures where there is a degree of actual or potential exposure to blood or other infectious materials.
  • Hours of work are structured 8.0 hour blocks of time but may be subject to irregular and/or flexible hours based on needs or demands.
  • Participation in annual training regarding infection control and safety in the environment including hazardous waste and blood borne pathogens will be required.
  • All new staff must attend training regarding handling physical, verbal threats, acts of violence or other escalating and potential dangerous situations including when police need to be summoned.
