Job Title: Director of Recovery Services

Summary of Job Duties:  The Regional Director of Recovery Services is responsible for directing the operations of assigned programs and implementing programmatic and administrative policies and procedures in order to attain program goals and objectives. The Regional Director of Recovery Services is also responsible for making programmatic as well as administrative recommendations to the Regional Executive Committee and/or the Executive Director in accordance with the agency/program goals and objectives. 

Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position requires a Master’s Degree from an accredited school in social work, psychology, nursing, professional counseling or another related field. Licensure or Certification in Alcohol and Drug Counseling is required. Five years of addiction treatment experience is required. Five years of management and/or administrative experience in the field of human services is required. The experience requirement may be waived by the Board if the person has demonstrated leadership and management skills. Meet Licensure Requirements for their respective boards.  Submit to and pass a criminal record check and a drug screening test.

Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am until 4:30 pm. Evening and weekend hours may be required.

This position reports directly to the Executive Director.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following:

 
  • Oversee Residential Treatment Centers for Substance Use Disorder.
  • Oversee Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient programs for the treatment of Substance Use Disorder.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable statutes and regulations in the delivery of services for Substance Use Disorder.
  • Monitor progress of staff toward certification and licensing requirements.
  • Manage Peer Support Staff for recovery services.
  • Manage and provide oversight of the Cumberland River Regional Prevention Center.
  • Submit and monitor applications for grants offered for the treatment of Substance Use Disorder.
  • Assist the Executive Director in application for contracts to provide treatment for Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health treatment when applicable.
  • Provide oversight of recovery housing offered by Cumberland River Behavioral Health, Inc.
  • Monitor DUI Services including compliance with all regulations related to the delivery of such services.
  • Maintain certification as a DUI Administrator.
  • Serve on Boards and Committees as assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Attend meetings as scheduled with the Department of Behavioral Health/Division of Substance Abuse.
  • Plans, organizes, directs and evaluates the overall operation of designated programs.
  • Assist in the establishment of policies, procedures, and system development to meet all licensing and accreditation requirements.
  • Recruits, selects and evaluates the performance of personnel who are involved in the day to day operation of the program.
  • Responsible for overall productivity of the program to meet standards per agency policy.
  • Responsible for evaluating the program’s effectiveness and improving the overall performance.
  • Operate the program in a cost effective manner and monitors revenues and expenditures.
  • Demonstrates the ability to implement a treatment plan based on assessment data as well as a sound knowledge base of standards of professional practice and principles of their respected discipline.  Will provide training and education to clinical staff regarding the correct methods to develop and implement a treatment plan.
  • Provide care based on ethical concepts, adhering to established standards of practice and will engage in activities or behaviors that characterize professionals.
  • Ensure the accuracy, content and completeness of client files by internal audits.
  • Refrain from assuming any duty that is unrelated to and/or interferes with the responsibilities of the position.
  • Respond to emergency situations in a timely fashion.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with other team members, as part of a multidisciplinary team, and independently, when necessary.

  • Hours of work are structured 7.5-8.0 hour blocks of time but may be subject to irregular and/or flexible hours based on needs or demands.
  • Position may require duties to include routine or reasonable anticipated tasks or procedures where there is a degree of actual or potential exposure to blood or other infectious materials.
  • All staff are required to participate in yearly trainings regarding infection control and safety in the environment including hazardous waste and blood borne pathogens.
  • All new staff must attend training regarding handling physical, verbal threats, acts of violence or other escalating and potential dangerous situations including when police need to be summoned.
